LANDSCAPE
Learn to piece curves the easiest
way to make a
beautiful small landscape. There will be lots of discussion about value
and
color in the class. A great way to
showcase those wonderful
batiks that you have been saving.
TREE
SKIRT
A fun and easy tree skirt with majestic fir trees reminiscent of the
west coast forest. The techniques used are curved piecing and setting
triangles to make a large hexagon with an optional Celtic knot
surrounding the trunk of your Christmas tree.
BARGELLO
TABLE RUNNER
If you would like a challenge here is the table runner for you. It is a
variation on the bargello idea set as a log cabin. Careful value and
color planning will make this a wonderful centre for your dining table.
COLOUR/VALUE
Does the color wheel mystify you? Do you have any idea how value works
in your quilt? We will discuss and do exercises relating to these two
topics to help you gain confidence in selecting fabrics for your quilts.
SLICK
CIRCLES
Kathy has devised a new way to do reverse applique which simplifies
the process, making it easy enough for the beginner. You will also
learn free form cutting to create the interesting circles.
STACKED AND CURVED
Try something that is really differnt from the average straight line
strip piecing, but just as easy. Curved strip piecing gives your quilt
an unusual look, and is easy enough for anyone with basic quilting
skills. Many traditional patterns can be adapted to this method,
giving you endless creative options.
STRIPS AND CURVES
Make a stratta of strips before class then cut and sew curves the easy
way, using a method by Joen Wolfram. This class is about color and
design as much as technique.

WHY NOT!
From 9 fat quarters plus 1/2m background make this stunning 3D
looking quilt which Kathy has re-designed, eliminating the set-in seams.
A little more challenging than the tumbling blocks quilt,
but worth the extra effort.
BASIC MACHINE
QUILTING
12 blocks - 6 hours of fun. We will start with basic straight line
quilting
and then move into more and more complex quilting treatments.
This is not a class to produce the most beautiful quilt in the world
but rather a time to begin developing the skills and confidence to
tackle your quilts that are taking up space in your studio and in your
mind.
BEGINNER - COOL
NINES
Try these fast methods of making nine patches and quarter square
triangles, easy enough for the beginner.
OH LOG CABIN
Two traditional blocks that together make a wonderful combination
with the directional effect of the Log Cabin paired with the
curves of the Drunkards Path. Learn all the tricks and fast and
easy ways to make both blocks.

AUTUMN STAR TABLE RUNNER

If you have always wanted to construct the traditional grandmother's
Flower Garden quilt but were daunted by the hand pieced English paper

the blocks with no set-in seams. Kathy took it a step further
eliminating the need for the special ruler, making the process
quick and easy.
FLYING GEESE
Another one of those traditional quilt patterns, but come and try out
the newest method of making geese with the latest new must-have ruler.
Its easy, efficient use of fabric, no bias edges to work with method
will have you flying faster than a flying goose!
BEGINNER SERIES
Learn many of the basic skills you need to know to start quilting in
this four
week introductory class. Starting with fabric selection and care to
putting on the
binding and all steps between, including two basic blocks, learn the
many differnt
tricks and techniques that Kathy has gathered over the last 2o years of
quilting.
FABRIC DYEING
Learn the art of immersion dyeing in the morning. With the leftover
dye we will do some creative painting and sponging in the afternoon.
MARINERS COMPASS
Learn all of the latest techniques to draft, paper piece this
traditional
medalion. The compass block is often used as the centre of a large bed
quilt.
THOUSAND PYRAMIDS
A very old and traditional quilt pattern, simplified.
Using the new and innovative cutting method, you can have your quilt
ready to sew in a fraction of the time it used to take our grandmothers
when they drew and cut each triangle out by hand.
After it is designed, Kathy has devised a fast and efficeint
piecing method that will have you ready to tackle any
size thousand pyramid project.

Learn to construct Kaleidoscope Stars the
quick and easy way,
with no set-in seams, using the 'Stack-n-Whack' method developed by
Bethany Reanolds.
EIGHT POINTED STARS
Learn to construct beautiful Eight Pointed Stars the quick and easy way,
with no set-in seams, using the 'Stack'n'Whack' method developed by
Bethany Reanolds.
REVERSE APPLIQUE PEARS
Learn a
new method of reverse applique that will have you creating
all
kinds of new projects Kathy's fast and easy way. In class you
will make the pears and construct free forn curved borders to make a

SCRAPPY BARGELLO This is a fun class to learn the
basics of bargello and use up some of those scraps or uglies that you
really don't want in your stash any more. The whole quilt is made up of
2 1/2" strips so you could even use those jelly rolls that you have
been saving .
